AI USE POLICY
Last Updated: August 29, 2026
Learning in a Distracted World uses AI tools as part of how we create and deliver content, across both our website and course/community platforms. Transparency about this matters to us — here's what that looks like:
HOW WE USE AI

- AI tools assist with drafting, research, and production support for scripts, blog posts, social content, and graphics
- Every piece of published content is reviewed, edited, and approved by Kelly Sutherland before it goes out — AI drafts, Kelly decides
- Our community podcast, The Notebook, features Nora and Nick — AI-generated hosts (via NotebookLM) who identify themselves as AI at the start of every episode. They are not real people, and every episode is built from Kelly's own written source material and reviewed before publishing.
- Some graphics (thumbnails, social visuals) are AI-generated using tools like Imagen, in Kelly's brand style
- We may use AI-powered tools across our platforms (Wix, Zenler, or similar) to support content creation, site/course functionality, customer support, and business operations. As we adopt new tools, we'll continue to disclose how they're used here rather than in a separate policy for each one. We do not use your individual account, community, or purchase data to train AI models.
AI AGENTS BUILT INTO OUR PLATFORMS
In addition to the AI tools we use to draft and produce content (described above), our course/community platform, Zenler, has its own built-in AI agents that support marketing and student retention.
As of August 2026, these include:
- A re-engagement agent that identifies students who have gone inactive in a course and sends personalized follow-up emails based on that student's individual progress — for example, encouraging someone to pick back up where they left off.
- A support agent that can answer visitor and student questions using our public content (blog posts, sales pages, course descriptions) to point people toward the right resource, including direct links.
These agents operate within Zenler on our behalf, as part of the platform we've chosen to run our courses and community on. They do not make purchasing, refund, or account-access decisions, and they don't replace the direct email replies and community responses that come from Kelly. If you ever want to speak with a real person instead of an automated follow-up, you can always reach us directly at support@learninginadistractedworld.com.
WHAT AI DOES NOT DO HERE

- AI does not make medical, legal, educational-placement, or diagnostic determinations for your child
- AI does not replace Kelly's professional judgment or credentialed expertise — it supports her workflow, it doesn't author her positions
- We do not use AI tools that make automated decisions about your account, payments, or access without human review
YOUR DATA & AI

Your personal data — account information, community posts, course progress, and communications — is not used to train any AI model. The AI tools we use assist with drafting and production of our own original content; they do not have access to your individual account or community activity for training purposes.
