By accessing or using Learning in a Distracted World's website (learninginadistractedworld.com), courses, community, or podcast (the "Services"), operated by Metacognitively Teaching LLC, you agree to these Terms. Our Services are delivered across two platforms — our website, built on Wix, and our courses/community, hosted through Zenler — and these Terms apply to your use of both. Additional terms specific to our community and courses are set out in our Community & Course-Specific Terms Addendum.
WHO WE ARE

Learning in a Distracted World is an educational content and membership business created by Kelly Sutherland, National Board Certified Teacher and Reading Specialist, serving parents and educators of children with ADHD and dyslexia.
WHAT WE OFFER
​
Educational content, courses, community access, and coaching-adjacent resources related to executive function, reading support, and family learning strategies.
NOT MEDICAL, LEGAL, OR SPECIAL EDUCATION ADVICE

Our content is educational and informational only. It is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment, psychoeducational assessment, occupational therapy, speech therapy, legal advice, or special education advocacy (including IEP/504 processes). We help you recognize when to seek those services — we do not provide them. Always consult qualified professionals for medical, legal, or educational-placement decisions specific to your child.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All original frameworks, terminology, course content, videos, and materials (including but not limited to the Head Coach Framework, Mental Garbage Can Framework, Storm-Ready Systems, and other coined terms) are the property of Metacognitively Teaching LLC / Kelly Sutherland. You may use these for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or resell our content without written permission.

ACCOUNT & CONDUCT

You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account, on either platform. You agree not to share paid course/membership access with others, misuse the community space, or use our Services for unlawful purposes. Community-specific conduct rules are further detailed in our Community Guidelines and our Community & Course-Specific Terms Addendum.
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES / LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Our Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee specific outcomes, results, or improvements from use of our content, courses, or community. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Metacognitively Teaching LLC's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of our Services will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
CHANGES TO SERVICES OR TERMS

We may update our Services or these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. We review all policy pages on a quarterly basis.
GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
